Bye 2017!

I’ve spent the last couple of days thinking (and googling) about new years eve. The time where everything becomes fresh and new and you say good bye to the previous year.

I’ve mainly been thinking about how for these last remaining days I will eat what I like and sort it out in 2018. I think the moment that the scales tipped 13st 11 last week made me wince a little. At the beginning of 2017 I vowed to loose and shift some weight. I’d even given myself the goal of fitting into my awesome north face gear by Yestival, but that didn’t happen. My thoughts got me on to why i hadn’t? what had stopped me? I guess in truth…. I did, I’m the one that shoved food into my mouth, that sugary hit I crave and downed the multiple bottles of booze (especially recently as my other half bought me Timmermans for Christmas)

The other thing I’ve been thinking about is the activity in my life. Those adventures i’m missing out on. Reviewing my year Yestival certainly shaped my new challenge and gave me that appetite for chasing the new and travelling more. Even my googles have changed to adventure and Gopro of late. I’ve volunteered this year at RHS Bridgewater. I love gardening and as this local garden will be opening in 2019 I wanted to help. I spent the day clearing rhododendrons.

This year I also said bye to a friend from work. He’s off to see the world with his lovely girlfriend and in those months running up to it we spoke about why wouldn’t he go and what did he have to loose? I’m so glad he choose to go and experience the world. I may even go meet him somewhere!

So all in all 2017, I think, has been a good transitional year, I’ve not achieved my new year resolutions from 2017 but I have pushed myself, stepped out of my comfort zone and I reckon its been the ground for something truly exciting!

Have a great night tonight saying bye to 2017 she’s not been too bad a year!

Next blog post… Hello 2018!

  1. A nice read kelly, sometimes all you can ask for is being given the chance to step outside your comfort zone. I think it’s how we grow. Looking forward to reading about your 2018
