Sinapore walking route (Best at Night)

On my first night in singapore i wanted to check out all the light shows and get to gardens by the bay at night. I planned this little walking route to take you from GBTB to dinner! Enjoy

Its up to you which way around you want start but I chose to start at the super tree grove hoping off the Bayfront MKT which is on the circle (yellow) and Downtown (blue) lines. From the station the Supertree grove is well signposted to head there.

Supertree grove

The super tree grove is amazing by day but at night it really transforms into something else. There are two shows daily at 7:45pm and 8:45pm where the grove comes alive in a light show with some spic music. It really is spectacular and a great place to start the walk.

Cloud forest and flower dome

After the show I headed towards the cloud forest and flower dome which are two key attractions. There is also a great little restaurant called Bakerize which does dinners just before you get to them.  If you do this walk at night the CF and FD will be closed but head right between the two and down the escalator and you’ll hit the walking route, go left and you get a great view of the Harbour.

Marina Bay Sands

As you continue the route Marina Bay sands will come up on you on the left. It’s an amazing hotel and if you stay here you can head up to the top to take a dip in the pool. If you can’t stump up the night rate you can go up to the sky bar for a cocktail and to admire the view.

As you continue walking you’ll see the Helix bridge and then come up on the Art and science museum.

As you reach the front of the museum you’ll see the bay and you should follow it round. You’ll arrive at a larger decking area and if you’re arrived just before the show you’ll see the crowds gathering. The shows a mixture of water and light so if you can get to the front of the deck next to the railing for the best view. Check for times here

Once the show is over you can take the opportunity to get some upmarket dinner or shopping at the Marina Bay mall right behind you but, if like me you’re shoestring, enjoy the lovely walk round the rest of the bay.

Wave goodbye to the bay as you head into the skyscrapers and as you wander towards the food court check out all the art around you.

As mentioned in my “singapore Top 10” Post get some dinner at the Lau Pa san food court to finish the walk! it’s super tasty whether you go for the veggie curry or other stalls inside or plumb for the chicken satay served outside!

Enjoy!
