This is the title of one of my favourite photography books compiled by a guy called Dan Eldon. Dan was a travel photographer and documented some amazing scenes.
As I sit here now in Singapore airport scoffing a bowl of wanton noodle soup (it is by the way the lushest thing ever) I’m completely happy. I’m bloody tired and my body is aching from the palvelka bootcamp yesterday but I’ve made it to do something I’ve been wanting to do for 10 years. Go back to Asia!

When I spoke to my friends about how long it took to get here my mate Litzi suggested why don’t you embrace the travel. Have a little plan for the route and what you’ll do. So I did and here was the plan
- Arrive Manchester airport grab some breaky and catch up with Helena pre flight (weirdly she was also flying out at the same time)
- 7hr flight to Doha work on free range life, watch movies eat yummy jerky bought
- 2hr lay over in Doha chill and make it to next flight
- 8hr flight to Singapore sleep
- 9hr layover in Singapore: check out airport art and walk
- 1.3hr flight to Borneo watch Netflix
Now it didn’t all go to plan, the first flight to Doha I was shattered so watched 3 movies and did no planning and the over night flight to Singapore wasn’t very sleep filled due to a screaming kid. But.. I was in the mindset that this is he beginning of my holiday and I should make the most of it. It’s surprising how much that changed my mood (well except for wanting to eject that screaming kid off the plane)

I wonder how much your mindset effects the way you look at your day! Next time you think somethings gonna be crap be it a meeting or, like me, a long haul flight maybe reset your frame!
